Diploma in ICT

The Diploma in Information Communication Technology (ICT) offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is a comprehensive program that is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the ICT industry. The program is open to students who have completed secondary education or an equivalent qualification.

The KNEC Diploma in ICT program covers a wide range of topics, including computer hardware and software, programming languages, web development, networking, database management, and system analysis and design. Students also learn about business and project management, as well as legal and ethical issues related to ICT.

The program is usually spread over two years and consists of four semesters. In each semester, students are required to complete a set of core courses and electives. The program also includes practical training, which provides students with hands-on experience in various areas of ICT.

Upon completion of the program, students are expected to be able to design, develop, and maintain computer systems, as well as analyze and solve problems related to ICT. They may also have the opportunity to work in various sectors, such as banking, telecommunications, education, government, and healthcare.

To be eligible for the KNEC Diploma in ICT program, students must meet the entry requirements set by the council. These include a minimum grade of C- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination or an equivalent qualification. Students who do not meet these requirements may be required to take a pre-diploma course before being admitted to the program.
